The Effects
• Contamination of water
• Affect fish, crayfish
• People can get sick by coming in contact through bathing,
swimming and drinking
• Increase in the cost of treating the water
• More chlorine is use to treat the water

Diseases that can be transmitted through contaminated water |
Shigella
People who are infected with Shigella develop:
Diarrhoea, fever, and stomach cramps
Starting a day or two after they are exposed to the bacterium.
The Diarrhoea is often bloody.

Typhoid
Fever
Typhoid is caused by a germs that are found in the faeces of people
who are sick with typhoid fever, persons who have recovered from the
illness and persons who caught the germs and show no sign of being
sick
How can you get it:
People can get typhoid fever by eating and drinking something that
has been contaminated by faeces and urine that has the typhoid germs
The symptoms are:
• Continuous fever • Tiredness •
Headaches • Loss of appetite
• Constipation or diarrhoea • After seven days, red spots
on the belly |
