Currently, fly fishing in the marine park is an experiment we are conducting with local fishers. The concept is to make a living fish more valuable than a dead one. Whereas a fisher can catch a fish and eat it only once, a fly fisher can catch the same fish over and over again. This makes for a sustainable and popular activity in the tourist industry. When done with the proper training and know-how, fly fishing has a limited impact on the health of the fish, and it provides a sustainable income to the fishers. The possibilities for expanding this tourism adventure are promising.
